Cannabis is legal!
In about 3 hours it will be legal to carry 30 grams of marijuana and to cultivate four plants, at a time, in my Provence in the Confederation of Canuckistan.
My connection with the sacred herb goes back to the Christmas Break of 1969. That connection has never been broken.
It was beyond my wildest dreams to see it legalized in my lifetime. Yet here we are.
My feeling is that adjustments will be needed to how the governments will be handling distribution. The federal authority has left it to the provinces and territories to decide how they wish to handle distribution. Consequentally there is a patchwork of approaches across the Confederation. In two other provinces, for example, it is not legal to grow your own plants. Thankfully it is in mine where we can grow 4 at a time. 😎
There is also an expected supply issue and there will be no legal editables until next year. My old contacts and Grandma's cookie recipe should get me through until they get those details worked out. It appears they will let the blackmarket fill in the gaps until they get it right.
Nothing much will be different for me, yet something which has been a regular activity of mine is no longer seen as a criminal activity; for which people could be caged.
Perhaps there is a slight buzz of self righteousness, on my part, for having ignored that pronouncement for almost 40 years.
Boom Shanka! Shiva Shambo!
I have always found it absurd that many Governments freely allow the consumption of products that cause long term health and medical problems while enforcing heavily a ban on a natural product which has proven to have medical healing properties.

It has largely been a political decision in my opiniin. From big oil resisting hemp, to police and big pharma lobbying against legalization. My feeling is that logic has never been part of the prohibition debate. 😎
Fuck Legalization. I won't rest on this subject until we #freetheweed. What a cool first to remember! Mine was after school mid week in the spring 1991. Good to reminisce! ✌🌸💜
Agree 100 % ... this is just a huge Money grab from Trudeau and his pals

Yep, legalization is not decriminalization (if that's a real word😎).
please share the recipe and brownies too, if you have one. If I act real smart. I can grow 4 in the back and 4 in the front. lol
The Mr. and Mrs. plots. 😎
The most important parts of my recipe is the carbonization of the herb and then the cannabis butter creation. Once you have the butter created then you can use it in any baking that requires butter.
Happy Baking! 😎
aha. wow, the sky is the limit ..who knows...maryjane pumpkin pie. ta da
Count me in! 😃
Way to go @novacadian! Let's hope other countries follow Canada's lead!
We must give a tip of the hat to Uruguay who was the first by my understanding.
True, Uruguay was the first to have a comprehensive legislation about the topic. However, in Costa Rica for example, it's legal to have some cannabis cigarrettes with you, if it is for you personal consumption, of course. That's been like that since the 70s or 80s, I can't remember well, but it is illegal for instance, to sell and even plant it. So you can smoke weed in Costa Rica, but you can't have a miserable plant in your garden. Uruguay in that sense was very ahead of time!
The importance of Canada for me is because unlike Uruguay, Canada is a first world country with a robust legislation about it. And on the other hand, while in the US there are some states that allow its use and commercialization, it is still a federal crime and it could be prosecuted as a federal case, as far as I know.
You guys could really take a great advantage in new pharmaceutical drugs and medical research based on cannabis, something much needed in my opinion right now. And that's something that no other country can do right now. Although Uruguay is a world power in Democracy, it doesn't have the pharmaceutical industry muscle necessary to make it happen, at least in the short run.
Yeah the government's approache seems to be towards a regulated industry ready for a growing legal market.
I have never taken it.

Qué bien mi amiga @novacadian que haya una legalización de la mariguana en su país . En Venezuela es prohibida. Qué tenga una linda noche amiga.
Deberíamos estar celebrando toda la noche. 😎
It is so nice that my plants will be legal in t minus 2 hours
Perhaps they will be less anxious. 😎
You can get some great seeds posted from Amsterdam, that is where I buy mine from online, if sir wants to grow them 4 plants. :-)
Thanks for the tip. My plan was to begin research on that when returning home tomorrow. 😎
You are in for a real treat then, I use this site, and just for Canadians they are doing free shipping to celebrate with you, you lucky bugger you. :-)
