I got seeds from the strain when it first came out I was highly anticipating it. After I grew it I was amazingly disappointed. It really didn't have the yield I was expecting or the quality and potency. But that really doesn't mean much when I like something it's tasty. And again this really can't live up to mine high expectations.
It is pretty good but it's not a winner. It had way too much hype and didn't deliver the goods.
I agree that it is probably not the top choice and there was a lot of hype on it. I have grown many different purples through out the years and I don't believe any of them were ever top score for potency. On the other hand if you happen to be a grower/breeder and have the opportunity to be selective you can usually find a phenotype that is just a little bit more special. In doing so you can find purples that compete. I have used bubblegum for a parent stock for years and still would again today. It is not the strongest weed ever and nor is it the fastest growing but when selected and bred with the right other strains it makes magik. I am a big fan of Lumberjack Seeds. Vader and the crew have done some exceptional work with their selective breeding. I think I am just babbling now so yeah...
