In the US, Northern Michigan University is the first US College to offer an undergrad medical marijuana degree. Ohio State University, the University of Washington, the University of Vermont and the University of California, Davis are all offering MMJ courses, but not yet degrees. The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy announced but recently abandoned plans for courses in medical marijuana studies.

Cannabis is a large and growing industry that needs skilled candidates in a number of fields. Universities know they need to be ahead of the curve here to train & supply those candidates and take advantage of their part of the tremendous opportunities cannabis presents.
