Here’s some charts every cannabis grower should have handy. Save them!
Every time I come across a helpful chart online I save it to my phone. I have been referring to the deficiency charts for years now, and I always keep them saved in a special album on my phone. So I figured I’d share them with the steemit community! None of these are my original work, most came from Instagram, and other social media.
I stumbled on this one the other day(above) and it couldn’t have come at a better time, because I was arguing with some people on reddit who were claiming they only made distillate with their top shelf flower. I believe the Jungle Boys were the first to post it. Distillate is ready because you can make a consistent product no matter the quality of the flower you use because the terpenes are destroyed, and new quality terps are added after extraction. As long as the thc is not degraded you can get good distillate from a disaster harvest. The more thc, the more distillate you will get. To be honest, most distillate is made with product that is no use for anything else.
These two charts(above and below) I have kept handy for years. Sometimes the difference between deficiencies can be subtle. Even with these to reference it’s hard to tell what is lacking. Don’t be afraid to print this out, and hang it up in your house. You’ll find yourself looking at them constantly!

This is excellent information.... I think mine might be Hemp. 10% CBD and 1% THC .... can you tell from these photos ?
It is still a little early to tell. A couple more weeks and you’ll start to see balls forming where it branches off. Females will have white hairs that grow out of the ball, males will not. You still have plenty of time though. Don’t go chopping them down yet. Where did you get the seeds?

FREEDOM DREAM – CBD
Freedom Dream is a strain normally grown in Canada for commercial seed production. The seeds will produce both female and male plants. The female plants will grow about five feet tall and produce a large central bud with minimal side branches. If pollinated by a male plant, the bud will fill with seeds. If not exposed to male pollen, the bud will produce about 8-12% CBD and only very little THC. You could smoke these buds for pain relief but you won’t get high. For best medicinal benefit I would recommend making water hash or another extract from these buds.
Ok well you still have a week or two before you can be sure. You still have quite a while before pollen will be produced though so you’re ok.
these are some dope charts for sure i gotta check these out. I wanted to ask, does it matter the quality of the thc when it comes to taking cbd/thc topicals? ive been looking for a good cbd to find and i haven't been able to catch a good one yet. Speaking of JB i just picked up some Orange Cookies the other day...lol
You’re looking for a good CBD plant? The quality of the thc always matters. When i said that quality doesn’t matter when making distillate, I meant the amount of THC. As long as it’s not old and degraded you can still make distillate. If you have a harvest with low THC you just won’t get as much distillate, if you have a harvest with high THC you will get a lot more distillate but it will be the same quality. They use harvests that pollinate, or have infestation issues, or the nug structure is terrible, or the terps didn’t develop well, or other things like that. They just need THC, that’s not old to make distillate, they don’t need to worry about having an awesome terp profile like they do for BHO. Does that make sense?
For the topicals, it just depends on how they’re making them, and I’m not to familiar with that process. I believe they use distillate but I’m not positive. I doubt they are using top shelf nug to make it though.
If you are looking to grow a CBD high strain you still have to worry about the quality of the crystals because that is where the CBD is located as well as the THC.

I didn’t know that distillate was often made with lower quality material. I’ve only tried 1 company’s distillate but I love flavour, so really missed it.
Just because it’s made with lower grade material doesn’t mean it’s not a great product still. It has very few impurities, and its is super convenient. The best part is, since terps are extracted seperatly and re introduced, we can give patients a consistent product that is exactly the same each time. That’s not possible with flower or any other extraction technique because it depends on quality of product, the terp profile being different on different cuts of the same strain, and many other factors. But you can use material with few terps, or a bad profile. You can use product where the buds didn’t develope right, or the plant got burnt, or it seeded out, or it got bugs or many other problems. You pretty much just need fresh THC. More thc means more distillate.
You could compare it to finding a gold mine, or panning for gold in a stream. The gold mine would be top shelf product, the stream would be a disaster harvest. The gold is the same quality from both, but you get more from the gold mine. Does that make sense? I don’t want to dissuade you from distillate, it’s still a great product, but anyone claiming they use top shelf product for it is usually lying. If they have a great terp profile there is no sense destroying it and re introducing other terps.

At the very beginning of the post, a picture of the types: Sativa and INDIKA of 7 petals in the leaf, RUDERALIS for 5, and I have 3. Now I'm asking what is this type?
Well the term ruderal can be applies to any plant I believe. It’s defined as the first species of a plant to grow in a disturbed area like a wildfire, flood, or construction. Or something like that.
Cannabis ruderalis is pretty much cannabis that is growing wild and has adapted to an enviornment that isn’t its native one. It has adapted to harsher conditions, and lack of nutrition. Generally they are short very low thc, have small nugs, and things like that.
However, they have been crossbred into medicinal cannabis because the flowering stage of runder isn’t activated by the photoperiod like most cannabis, it’s flowers automatically. So it has been bred with indica’s and sativa’s and this is where “auto flowering” cannabis comes from.
By itself Ruderalis has very little benefit, by breeding it with other varieties has been very benificial to the industry, especially for outdoor cultivation where auto’s can help you fit 2 harvests into a normal season.
