#BC Bud Review #5: Hawaiian
BCBud Review #4 : Hawaiian
Her Name | Hawaiian |
---|---|
Where I found her | Victoria, Canada |
Her Genetics | Sativa Dominant |
Her Ancestors | Unknown |
Leafly Description | Hawaiian is a mostly sativa hybrid that will give you a happy, vacation feeling. Creative but not so focused, this bud is great for a relaxing day. These light green buds have a sweet smell and taste that is not super potent but will bring to mind fresh tropical fruit. |
My Rating: 7/10
My Review:
Such a common strain, yet so shrouded in mystery. Couldn't really find any sort of clean lineage but its been cultivated for decades and is the ancestor of many common strains today.
The buds were frosty, with a mid amount of red hairs, frosty but nothing crazy, and fairly fluffly. I didn't really smell much but It had a nice sweet taste. It was tasty, although I cant quite describe the profile other than sweet, sugary. It was a nce energetic buzz but I didn't focus too much with it, and at times I feel it may have heightened my anxiety. Previous batches of Hawaiian have also affected me this way - too "buzzy" in head for anxiety.
This strain is probably incredible for people who are low energy, or ones who like to be high energy. As far as quality of the bud this is excellent, it just has never been one of my faves, so I settled to give it a 7. Don't let this review deter you from trying the strain though, it is a stellar strain.
Would Love to hear feedback from anyone else!

Thanks for peepin the review and for commenting! I've got a bunch more reviews if you would like to check out, all pics are original from the stuff I actually smoked! My Past Reviews:
It sounds delicious.
I recently stopped concentrates to bring my tolerance down. I've been avoiding sativas. I can barely feel even the best sativas right now. I'm not sure if that's just me but until my tolerance comes back down the only thing that really works is a good, hard hitting indica.
I look forward to trying Hawaiian in the future though. Thanks for doing the review.
yeah I feel you on that. For me, my preference rests with the hybrid sativas, I did try concentrates for a while but they just floored me, regardless of the genetics. As a budtender, I have seen concentrates serve a very good medicinal purpose, especially for specific chronic pain patients who need instant relief. As a tolerance break you just have to ween yourself off, and maybe learn to appreciate the more subtle effects of the buzz as they become more apparent. Take a cbd strain like cannatonic for example, doesnt even get you high most of the time, but lots of heavy smokers integrate it into their lifestyle for the other benefits it brings.
I'm not a huge fan of CBD because it has hardly any psychoactive effect. I like that part. I did buy an advent calendar in December and it came with quite a few CBD products. I tried them so they wouldn't go to waste and they definitely have pain relieving power. I'm using pharmaceutical painkillers right now that don't mess with the psychoactive effects of the flowers I smoke. I can see how CBD has a place in the market. It's just not for me.
As for the tolerance break, it's going pretty well. The flowers are already starting to have more of an effect. I'll be able to smoke some nice sativas again here soon. I think indicas will always be my go to though.
Thanks for the advice. Have a good day.
