RE: Farm Update from Garden #1: Heat Wave Work, Video of Garden, & Plant Problem Question

Hi @Elamental. It appear to be heat stress on the plants.
A quarter way down that page is some info on the probelm and a few solutions.

Anything you can do to shade the plants or keep the roots as cool as possible will be beneficial against the heat. Watering more often, fans on the plants and boosting potassium a bit will help.

Also if you can generate some co2, it brings the temperature that plants can withstand up about 10 degrees or so. It also makes them grow much faster so this could not only save your crop but also make it larger.
My method for introducing co2 is a homemade co2 generator.
Paint a 2 liter pop bottle painted black so light cannot penetrate.
Make 2 pin holes in the cap.
Add 1-2 cups of sugar, 1-2 tablespoons of yeast and a liter of warm water.
Cap it and shake it to get things all mixed up. Then place them inbetween your plants to let the co2 disperse. Being outside and getting a lot of air movement may make this method not as effective as a more enclosed and less ventilated area.
Hope all that may help keep that crop growing strong.
The garden is looking very nice by the way. Happy growing bud!

If you make the co2 generators you may want to increase the size of them to be more effective in your larger setting.

Thank you, it appears you are right about it being heat stress. It makes perfect sense since we just experienced an intense heat wave that produced extremely bad air quality. I do not think we have co2 pumps in our budget right now, but that is a really great suggestion. We are going to try watering them more than usual for now.
