The risk of cancer growth can be reduced by the lifestyle choices we make, hence today I will be sharing on REDUCING THE RISK OF CANCER

There are certain things that can be done to reduce the risk of cancer growth, these includes:

  • Stop smoking
    Smoking or tobacco use generally has been linked to certain cancers which includes: cancer of the mouth, throat, lungs, kidney, cervix, and so on. Exposure to second hand smoke can also increase the risk of lung cancer

  • Eat healthy diet
    Healthy diet is important to reduce cancer risk, follow these guidelines;

    • Eat more of fruits and vegetables
    • Limit processed foods
    • Try not to be overweight or obesed
    • Cut down on alcohol consumption
  • Be physically active
    Maintaining healthy weight helps to reduce the risk of certain cancers such as cancer of the breast, colon and kidney. Healthy weight can be achieved through daily mild to moderate exercise.

  • Reduce exposure to radiation
    Exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun could cause skin cancer. Radiation from magnetic imaging should be limited to medical reasons only.
    Staying safe from sun and protective covering should be worn to limit sun radiation.

  • Limiting hormonal therapy, early pregnancy, breastfeeding can reduce the risk of breast cancer
