Help to find a cure for cancer while you sleep

I have participated in a few distributed computing efforts over the years. Remember SETI anyone?

But the latest one to catch my attention is DreamLab. Essentially the same idea of farming out calculations across thousands of phones to help crunch vast quantities of data in smaller chunks.

This one was developed by the Vodafone Foundation. Once installed you make a couple of decisions, e.g. there are currently a couple of projects you can choose from, and then it just gets on with it in the background while the phone is plugged into the mains. Typically while you sleep. Very small data usage, mostly on wi-fi anyway.

It’s a no-brainer really… why wouldn’t you. I encourage you to go and download it now and give it a try.
