COPYRIGHT vs PUBLIC DOMAIN, NEWS & PROPAGANDA

I got notification from fb about some online act in Canada preventing the distribution of Canadian news, as I figured eventually out since at first I thought it was Canadian government forbidding anyone publishing any news, I was really high after smoking good weed in the morning and was still making sense of basics, so anyway, I have removed my previous post calling out the censorship, which is still there nonetheless however in this fb case, from what I know so far, is about fb refusing Canadian government to pay for their "news".

I have no clear understanding as to why would anyone pay for other people's news and or why Canadian government can't use fb and private corporate social media within the framework of the existing user agreements. So now, it seems, Canadian official government propaganda, which is what it is, is banned from major social platforms, good riddance, which is counterproductive to the purpose of propaganda in the first place. Shooting themselves in the foot as it may same as the collective West did itself disfavor by imposing ridiculous and uncalled for sanctions against Russia. If you still think that Russia has initiated Special Military Operations unprovoked with no crimes committed by Ukraine, and also by extension NATO, prior it, I have a bridge to sell you. Should I then start charging fb for my news, wtf?

That is why I support open expression, open source, intellectual property freedom and public domain ownership of it. Ironically, if I remember correctly, the Statue of Ann in 1700s, that became first copyright act addressing intellectual property ownership, was crafted by the Crown in order to free the manuscripts that were in perpetual control of the publishers so that the government propaganda could get out and see the light of the day and is first reference to the public domain as such, in contrast to private property and popular belief of what the copyright act is all about. It was originally meant to protect the commonly shared knowledge and cultural heritage of society as public domain not strip it naked. Enough said.
