1,200 jobs to be created by shoe factory in Kandal province

L.Y. Footwear (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. has been given the green light to invest in the manufacturing of all forms of footwear, according to a press release of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

Under this newly approved project, the factory will be built in Ang Snuol district of Kandal province, pointed out the same source.

With an investment capital of US$5 million, the new project is expected to generate some 1,209 jobs for local people, it added.

Such investment amid COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of foreign investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic. Phal Sophanith/AKP
