Competing for Cabin Crew Jobs in 2018: Here's the Deal!

in #cabin7 years ago
By 2018, cabin crew jobs have only experienced only about-average growth, which means that there will be about 8% more jobs in the sector. However, this influx of cabin crew jobs may not be immediately noticeable to those trying to find work in the field, as the number of applicants for cabin crew jobs is sure to rise as well.

Cabin crew jobs will continue to be tough for candidates to land, but they can increase their chances by getting maximum training and knowing where to look for jobs.

First, do you meet all requirements?

All cabin crew jobs require a high school diploma at the minimum, but many employers prefer their flight attendants to have at least a bachelor’s as well. A major in communication, tourism, nursing, business, or other customer-service-oriented work can increase your chances of finding cabin crew jobs, as does having some customer service job experience.

The best educational plan for increasing your prospects of finding cabin crew jobs is to attend a school or university with a flight attendant major or training program, especially for western airlines.

Cabin crew jobs require you to be licensed by the FAA, which you will receive following an intensive three- to six-week flight attendant training program after being hired. If you complete your certification before seeking cabin crew jobs with the aid of a training program at your school, you may increase your chances of securing a position. Although, I won't consider it necessary if you have the proper experience and skills to apply.

You can increase your chances of securing international cabin crew jobs by speaking one to two (or more) foreign languages fluently. Also, make sure to optimize your cabin crew resume and cover letter before you apply. When applying for cabin crew jobs, select airlines that have flights to countries in which the foreign languages you know are spoken.

Get closer to action

You can expect to live near cities with major airports if you hope to secure cabin crew jobs, particular cities with airline headquarters. The busier the airport, the more cabin crew jobs you may find. Texas is one of the states with the highest concentrations of cabin crew jobs, as is the Phoenix and Mesa area in Arizona.

Flight attendant jobs are available throughout the world, but you should expect to face a lot of competition and undergo a lot of training for the job, so you should be absolutely committed before you proceed.
