In Malaysia, we are so accustomed to those sold at mall we no longer make one. What a shame. So we use those Led one for children. But we play lanterns only during Mooncake festival, not in Christmas. So it is interesting to find out that parol is a Christmas symbol.

We use candle though, or just buy any Christmas lantern from mall to decorate the house
or especially during Christmas carolling. 😁
