Let me tell you a story about BZEdge, the old BTCz chain

BZEdge came into existence when BitcoinZ forked to Zhash (Equihash 144,5) around block 160.000. While the chain was still active, a group of developers and crypto enthusiasts teamed up to create the BZEdge team. At block 200.000 BZEdge implemented another fork and changed the POW algorithm to Zhash in order to maintain ASIC resistance. At the same time, block time was reduced from 2.5 minutes to 1 minute to allow for faster transactions.

This information was not made public because the ASIC for equihash was just released so the chain was secured slowly by growing the ecosystem.

When Zhash came into play, the network was 100% secured as the ecosystem was big enough so that the 51% attack could be avoided. Plus, the Zhash algorithm made it even more secure as there are no known Zhash ASICs on the market... at least until today.

Since this is a community driven coin, any new technology that becomes available can be implemented as a feature in BZEdge ecosystem as long as it brings values to end users, miners, and investors. Any DEV is welcome to the table and throw their code at it.

The team is focused on a complex set of tools and products, thus, it is premature to highlight any of them now before having released a beta version of the software or a minimal proof of concept.
