With 105 votes in favor and 2 against, the plenary of the National Assembly of Venezuela approved that the preliminary hearing of merit be carried out against Nicolás Maduro; this, because there is sufficient evidence linking him to acts of corruption in the Odebrecht case.
It is a step in the fight against the dictatorship; a situation that although not immediate effects at the national level, the main factors to take into account are: Mature as president of Venezuela and that can be found guilty and officially qualified as a criminal.
During the session, the opposition deputies denounced that the regime cut the internet signal to prevent the live transmission of what was happening; In addition, the State Security forces prevented the entry of the media.
The response of Nicolás Maduro was: They throw stones at me, but they just bounce.
It is not the first time that the National Assembly tries to dismiss Maduro. On December 13, 2016, he declared the political responsibility of the agent; and on January 9, 2017, he approved the abandonment of the position. None of the decisions had effects. Since in Venezuela only what Nicolas Maduro says is done.
