Racially Motivated Segregation Law, India
Subtle and quiet, very discreet, that's how the segregation law has been enforced for generations, in India, against ethnic minorities in northeast. The segregation law has been racially motivated from day one with its origin going back to the British colonial days. It has never been race neutral. Those who say otherwise are either ignorant on the topic or politically motivated. The segregation has been imposed on the aboriginals without their consent.
India, as a colonial power, has done incalculable damage to the region. In Mizoram (northeast), the Indian airforce has conducted aerial bombardment at a time when the aboriginals were suffering from famine. The Indian leadership called their action as "rationing from the air". This is a crime against humanity. Would you say otherwise?
In the Naga homeland alone, India has slaughtered 300,000 innocents in their attempt to grab the land. Would you say otherwise? The attacks were carried out in coordination with the Myanmar military, sometimes.
The interesting thing about the segregation is that, the Indian demography, including foreigners from Bangladesh, has been able to invade and overtake the aboriginal population with ease, in many parts of northeast. The law – enforced under the guise of "Inner Line Permit", "Protected Area Permit" and "Restricted Area Permit" – stands to benefit the oppressor while oppressing the oppressed. It has never been intended to protect the oppressed.
There are millions of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants who jumped the fence and have caused troubles for the locals yet the Indian govt hasn't done anything other than to legalize the illegals. Whereas foreign diplomats were barred. In fact, India has had a big fight between its two ministries (foreign and home ministries) when several ambassadors from different European countries somehow sneaked into the sagregated territory, some years ago.
Conclusion: How many illegal immigrants have been kept out successfully, from the segregated territory, by the segregation law? The answer is, NONE. The criminals have not only been allowed to come in, they have been legalized also. Whereas respectable international diplomats are prevented from freely travelling to the segregated territory. Thus the segregation law has created hurdles for the good people alone, and not for the fence jumpers from across the international border.
