BUSY RED MONTH - Valentine's Day Sweets
It is now February and as expected Valentine's Day is one of the highlights of the month.
It is also when I try my best to bake RED sweet treats and get myself busy in the kitchen. Some preparations are repeats while I could stand experimenting on a few. Perhaps most mothers and wives know this already, especially sweet treats for the little chiquititos.
I had been gardening for 1-1/2 weeks and thought of a refresher activity, once more I was reminded to update my recipe file. I actually did some de-cluttering of my old recipe printouts and what a blessing did I find! Valentine's Day recipes from God-knows-when-I-clipped them :-) Such is so timely and put together for a reason. I remember back then when I was still learning most of the baking and cooking skills that I'd search and print any recipe that would interest me most including numerous folds of recipes or back labels of canned creams or milks with recipes of quick 10-minute meals. Does anyone else do these too? Here are samples of my old-clippings and recipe prints.
Since it is a RED HOT month, I have a Red Bell Pepper soup in mind to try on soon. If it turns out successful, I would gladly share my recipe through here. That is a promise!
So many things home-based Moms like me would want to do and lay my hands on but when you are monopolized by your youngsters, things to-do could never get done. Hence the saying, Patience is a Virtue BUT Time is Gold. :-)
