The head of the magistrate of Minsk with the keys of the city covered with snow
During my walk around the new year's city on January 1 it was snowing heavily. And during this snowfall I wanted to take a photo of this motionless uncle.
As a little sorry for him. He has no way to escape the weather. He has to constantly stand in one place and forever hold in the hands of the city keys and the Royal Charter.
This sculpture of Voight (head of the magistrate), with the keys of the city of Minsk, stands near the town hall.
At the feet of Voight - Minsk's plan of the 16th century (it covered with snow on photo).
In 1499, the city of Minsk received self-government, became a center of crafts and trade, introduced the standards of the European metric system, received permission to install the city scales, as well as to collect taxes.
