Leased For 12 Years, The Apartment Changed To Be Very Terrible
A stunned homeowner finds his flat buried in an empty can, food wrap and cigarette pack.
The shocking pictures reveal how a tenant who has rented his house for several years, sees so much garbage piled up inside the apartment, that he can not see the floor.
Graham Holland of Maidstone, Kent, said he thought he was in a horror movie when he got into his flat in Sittingbourne last summer after twelve years he had not visited his apartment.
The 56-year-old electrician said, "It was a complete and shocking surprise and I can not believe anyone could live in such a mess.
It took four days for Mr. Holland and his wife, Nicole Holland, 56, to clean up thousands of beer cans, cigarette packets and food wrappers.
The couple must pay around £ 10,000 to fix the damage done to the one bedroom flats.
He said: "Cleaning the apartment took a long time because we needed up to four days to clean the apartment."
Mr. Holland bought the property 30 years ago with his wife and changed it himself.
"We want the place to look good for tenants to move on."
"The flat is beautiful and we immediately rent it to some people, which makes the place look clean and tidy," he said.
But a decade ago, Mr. Holland could not enter his own property.
The tenant, Michael Grant, 68, a former resident of Park Road, Sittingbourne, refused to let anyone into the flat.
Mr. Holland said, "He was always very nice and friendly when he first moved to the property."
"But Michael soon became very difficult to find and when the agent wanted to see the flat, he was not willing."
"She's very angry, but she always pays her rent on time."
But Grant finally decided to move from the flat last year, after Mr Holland raised the rent for the first time in twelve years.
When finally entering his property, homeowners are allowed to clean up the mess after long-term tenants, Grant, move on, leaving behind the chaos behind him.
Thousands of beer cans were stacked in every room, moldy food left on the floor and garbage bags looming over the bed. Grant.
The toilet is full of garbage.
Grant, who had passed away, had not been ashamed to admit that he had caused the chaos.
