Why Avengers: Infinity War will be the best movie of the year

Ten years ago, not-so-popular Hollywood actor Robert Downey-Jr was cast as Tony Stark aka Iron Man and the world saw the first movie of the series which would later be called Marvel Cinematic Universe or the MCU. Who could even think that this movie franchise would become so successful and amazing? Disney, the owner company of the MCU, has produced 18 movies over this decade and they are not going to stop. Different actors were invited to play superheroes, villains, and others, and when there were not so many popular ones at the beginning (only Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Hopkins were probably the superstars), the MCU was able to acquire Benedict Cumberbatch, Kurt Russell, Vin Diesel and more! Not to mention Chris Evans, RDJ, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, who grew with the movies and now are the Hollywood’s most wanted actors. MCU had its ups and downs (hello, The Incredible Hulk and Thor 2) but it’s grown to be one of the best movie franchises ever.

“The end is near!”, Thanos declares in the first teaser trailer and he is so right. The culmination of the decade is upon us, the Infinity war. This is going to be an epic, mind-blowing, beautiful film and here are five reasons why:

• 76 characters are going to make an appearance. Seventy-six of them! Obviously, it would be impossible to make all of them fight together, so the action will take place on different planets. The fight for Wakanda on the Earth and the fight for something on another planet (probably Titan, the homeland of Thanos), are already confirmed in the trailers.

• The villain is going to be a badass. Let’s face it, we haven’t had a perfect villain since Loki in the first Avengers. Kilmonger in Black Panther and The Vulture in Spiderman: Homecoming were good but Thanos… Man, this guy is top-notch. He is one of the strongest archenemies in the comic books and even though we already had this Strong In The Comics Disappointment In

The Movie situation (hello, Mandarin), we can be sure that this time, the Big Bad will be nearly perfect. He will be strong enough to handle The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, he will have a good motivation and his backstory will be explained. One Thanos is anticipated as much as the other 75 heroes.

• Very important plot points. First, many of our questions will finally be answered. Infinity War and Avengers 4 (the latter is scheduled for May 2019 and its name is not revealed yet, although some rumors state that it will be Avengers: Disassembled) are there to help us understand the things that we couldn’t so far and all the threads that we had throughout the entire ten years should be tied together. Second, these two movies will give the MCU the shape that will stay with it probably for another 10 years. And last but not least, not all the characters will make it. It’s been officially stated that one or two major characters will die during Infinity War. RDJ and Chris Evans, who play Iron Man and Captain America respectively, have Avengers 4 as the last movie in their contracts. Someone will go and the best we can do is to eliminate some possibilities by being sure that no new additions to the MCU will die. Fans of Dr. Strange, Spiderman, Black Panther, Ant-Man, you can expect your favorites to survive.

• Just about everything is going to be amazing in this movie. The Russo brothers who directed this masterpiece (they brought us Winter Soldier and Civil War), music, actors and, of course, the camera work. The whole movie was filmed using the IMAX cameras so it has to be seen in IMAX because the studio obviously goes all-out on it. The views and the precision are going to be over the roof with a really huge budget, which is estimated to be around $400 million, though the exact numbers are not yet revealed.

• Stan Lee. We can hope that he will have something truly special here, keeping in mind that he was one of the authors who created the comic base for the movie and for the entire franchise. It’s about time he got an actual role!

To conclude, go and see the movie! Book the tickets way before because all the theaters are going to run out of them! Wait for the movie of the century because this is going to be a blast!
