Announcing My New Website!
I took the last 2 weeks off largely to focus on building this new website. I'm excited for what it can become. I see a great potential on the horizon!
For those who don't know, I started building a website a while back when I was first getting started on Steem. Many other things interjected in my life all at once, which led me to put the project off.
I shelved the website over a year ago and decided that I wanted to just focus on building a following on the Steem blockchain and just focus on making the best posts I could while still being able to run my business.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and many things lined up in my life which caused me to rethink the website.
Ultimately, I decided that there was some value on the table for this website. I believe, at least in a creative sense, that this website will change the way I write and create. I've always been obsessed with the prospect of having a site such as this.
Spotting the Void
I've been on Steem for quite some time now and I've seen all sorts of projects come and go. I've seen all sorts of ideas come and go as well.
Many things are being built on the Steem blockchain that truly amaze me... Just a few of them are Partiko, Steem Monsters, SteemHunt, Actifit, Steempeak and many more.
Despite all of these amazing projects which are constantly innovating and growing and evolving, the Steem blockchain lacks 1 core trait, in my opinion: Outward marketing and education of "normies".
I've talked about the Steem blockchain to so many people. While traveling or even while out and about in my home town, I've mentioned Steem in nearly every long conversation with anyone who's willing to listen.
This has allowed me to bring many of my friends on board to the Steem blockchain.
But with this, came my spotting of the void. The void that is the marketing and education of new Steemians and normies.
Whenever I would tell someone about the Steem blockchain, I would send them a quick description of the blockchain and kind of how it worked. I would describe it as being kind of like a smartphone... The Steem blockchain is a platform from which many DApps and applications and communities can be built.
I always wished that I could send them 1 link... 1 Website where they could go and learn everything they need to learn about the Steem blockchain to get started and use it to the best of their ability.
1 Website where they could go and learn about the various apps on the Steem blockchain.
So now you see my vision. A website where you can send the link to anyone who's interested in the Steem blockchain and from there they will be able to educate themselves and get involved on the blockchain.
Alongside this vision, however, is my desire to also have my own blog.
Combining these 2 visions is what led me to create this:

For now, there isn't a whole lot on the site. I have migrated a few blog posts of mine over there and I plan to migrate some more of them to the site as well.
I've built the foundational building blocks for what I want to create.
I'm not one who enjoys overly formal roadmaps, because my vision for this thing seems to change on a dime. Here's a very infromal and rough roadmap for my website:
- Migrate more blog posts
- Fix bugs (if you spot one, please comment below and I'll get to work on it right away!)
- Add a Steem page --> describe the Steem blockchain, how a "normie" can get an account, what they need to know to get started, apps/dapps and how to use them, etc.
I have a lot of other ideas... The sky is the limit here, but these 3 things are my main focus right now. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please leave them down below! Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
As I said, my overall goal with this website is to create both an outlet for my blog posts and an ultimate resource --> I hope that you will one day be talking about the Steem blockchain to a "normie" and when they ask how they can learn more and get started, you will share the link to my site and tell them that everything they need to get started and get educated about Steem can be found from this 1 link.
So your website is about book reviews?
What a coincidence, I was never before heard about the book "Fooled by Randomness" by Nassim Taleb, but thanks to Steemit and your post here I will read it. Coincidence is that I am a trader, trading Cryptos mainly through a bot and some Forex trading, at the moment creating a new bot for it.
Interesting is the fact that I know a lot about randomness and I can't wait to read the book.
Well, the website will certainly have my book reviews and highlights featured on it. My aim is a lot more broad, however. I’ll blog about all sorts of stuff - books, Steem, crypto, traveling, etc... whatever I’m interested in, really.
I’m also working to bring a great interface for learning about Steem - free and easily accessible information for the Steem newbies and advanced users alike. Stay tuned for those updates!
Fooled by Randomness is a fantastic book!! I’m currently working my way through Taleb’s Incerto and I plan on talking more about that as well! I’m glad you liked the post and I’m sure it will help you in all of your trading!!
