Following a Facebook data leak scandal that had horrendous public, British authorities began to investigate. The Information Commissioner Office (ICO) is known to have searched the offices of Cambridge Analytica (CA).

Quoted from The Guardian, Sunday (25/3/2018), the raid was conducted on Friday night local time. The process involving about 18 ICO officers at CA's headquarters in London was only completed on Saturday early morning British time.

"We will now assess and consider the evidence before deciding on the next step and conclude," the ICO spokesman said in a statement.

The move to ransack CA's office itself was done after a warrant on Friday night. The search was made to seek access to illegal CA actions using Facebook data for political campaigning purposes.

"This activity is part of a larger investigation into the use of personal data for political purposes," the spokesman said. This investigation will also focus on the SCL Group, as the holding company, and Aleksandr Kogan.

Previously, the Committee in the British Parliament has also filed a call on Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He was asked to provide an explanation regarding the scandal abuse of Facebook user data.

The committee summoned Zuckerberg for direct information. The summons also relate to alleged misuse of data for the Brexit referendum which led to the UK exit from the European Union.

This call came days after a number of British officials urged Facebook responsibly. Member of the Parliamentary Media Committee of England Damian Collins called up Facebook to 'neglect and lie to parliament'.

Facebook officials had sought the Internet user because they were mum about the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Because of that, the Internet user also plays the #WheresZuck tagar while sneering at Mark Zuckerberg and also Sheryl Sandberg.

Alex Stamos, Chief Security Officer at Facebook, said that employees on Facebook continue to work all day to take care of the case.

Until finally Zuckerberg apologized and declared ready to be called Congress . COO Facebook Sheryl Sandberg himself regrets the lateness of their response.

"Sometimes, and I can say like this week, we talk too slowly," Sandberg said. "If I can repeat this week's life again, I will definitely make Mark and myself to pick up early," he said.

He also added that they on Facebook can not quickly comment because it is deep into this problem.

After disappearing within a few days due to a scandalous leak of tens of millions of Facebook user data, Mark Zuckerberg finally raised the voice through official statements on Facebook and interviews in various media.

This time the founder of Facebook was not only apologizing, but also claimed to be ready when called by Congress if necessary to give information.

"I am open to that," Zuckerberg said as quoted by Recode.

"We actually do it quite often, there are many different topics that Congress needs and want to know," he added. He also ensures Congress gets access to the information they need.

Zuckerberg apologized for disappointing Facebook users after Cambridge Analytica abused 50 million of the data they took from users.

"We make people disappointed, and I feel very sorry, and I'm sorry about that," he said.
