William's Toren III
William's Toren III stands the most western part of Indonesia in Melingge Village, Pulo Aceh District.
Built in 1875 At the time of King William III came to power (1817-1890). The name of this lighthouse adopted the name of the king better known by the name of William Alexander Paul Frederik Lodewijk, ruler of Luxemburg. William was keen to build up the economy and infrastructure of the Indies, including Pulo Aceh.
The lighthouse was completed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of William III. Not only this lighthouse, all the buildings completed at that time were dedicated to the king. Thus, Willen's Toren or William Tower also exist in the Hollands and Caribbean Islands. now only serve this lighthouse and in the Caribbean islands only. Toren Willem in Hollands has turned into a museum.
Despite decades, William's Toren III remains firm. The 85-meter tower is still used in Pulo Breuh, Aceh Besar.
