Colossians 1:4-8
4:Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5:For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6:Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
7:As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
8:Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. (KJV)
In this letter, Paul recognizes a fellow servant, Epaphras. Not much is written about him but the fruit of his labour speaks volumes concerning his work.
It is important to note that the report of how the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the world (v6) wasn't possible without the efforts of men like Epaphras and other faithful servants who gave their lives away to the Lord.
Paul couldn't have worked alone; neither can the men of God of our time do. If the gospel will bear fruit and grow throughout the world, God needs you to arise. So think about it.
What role will you play in your campus, family, church, business etc. so that a similar report of fruitfulness and growth can be made about our generation?
Observe that the gospel bore fruit only among those who heard it and truly understood Gods grace (v6).
As a faithful minister, Epaphras duty was to present the gospel in such a way that Gods people would truly understand Gods grace.
Today, false teachings about Gods grace is everywhere, we must be careful to search the scriptures and seek to understand the truth about Gods grace.
PRAY WITH ME:
Dear Lord, help me to be faithful in sharing the gospel wherever I am.
