Atrophy

Atrophy isn't only a physical problem; it is an ever-present danger in our relationship with God as well.

Spiritual atrophy strikes the heart. If not nourished and nurtured, our hearts become cold to Christ and spiritually dysfunctional, leaving us with a Christianity that is hollow, habitual and even hypocritical.

A spiritual experience that was once an inward joy can become no more than a way of life. At times even a burden. Spiritual atrophy deadens the enthusiasm, spontaneity, and zeal of our christian experience.

To have known God yesterday isn't a reputation to hold on to. Freshness must be our heart disposition everyday as we awake to the reality of our existence.

We must daily break the torrents of the arguments and challenges that wage war against our Faith. We must approach God in his word and through prayer for strength and fortification.

Let this be a nidus for the growth and advancement of our spiritual growth. Don't give up, cos He won't give up on you...
