Thank You PAMM & LEGOLAND for the Free Trip, You Have Made Up Our Day Memorable! 😍

Last 28th April 2018, PAMM also known as Persatuan Autisme Muslim Malaysia had organized a visit to a LEGOLAND, Malaysia with its members in conjunction with the Autism Awareness Month, which is in April. What is even more memorable, this first visit was performed jointly by few therapists from Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) too. A total of 30 families including us are selected for this FREE LEGOLAND Trip. Yeah! 😊

The Mom-made Calendar

In order to make known about the trip, as usual, I will prepare a special calendar for her that gives visual date expectation about the LEGOLAND Trip. At the same time, I will keep reminding her about the upcoming event at least three times a week. On the calendar, there will be a blank date which required her to arrange it in order. I already attach the LEGOLAND and beg stickers on the calendar in order to give her some predictable event that what is going to happen and what is expected. In my example - on 27th is preparing the luggage and 28th is going to Legoland.

Why This Schedule Is So Importance For Me and My Daughter!

• Help her with a smooth transition and reduce anxiety due to changing in routine.
• To support developing literacy in a fun way as I combine the word/number associated with pictures.
• To encourage conversational skills in term of developing her ability to talk about the event-to-be.
• Help to develop her ability to organize and plan what it is required to be done first and completed it in an appropriate sequence.
• It is helpful to back up the verbal instructions by combining it with visual presentation. Even me sometimes need to write down my grocery list in a note to ensure I bought all items which I already planned earlier rather than keep it in my memory alone!

My LEGOLAND Trip

Time	Descriptions
10:30am	Gathered in front of LEGOLAND main entrance with PAMM members and the Therapist from HSI to get the entry passes and name stickers.
11:00am	Entered LEGOLAND gate and waiting for LEGOLAND Team briefing about the trip.
11:15am	Had an early lunch at LEGOLAND Cafe. Guests were served with chicken rice and drinks. My daughter's favorite! Yummy! Better to tame the stomach before its rumble.
12:00am	Took a tour to LEGOLAND park by LEGOLAND Express. Tut..tut! Everyone! The tour last 10mins before the LEGOLAND Team lead us to other different places in the park on foot!
03:00pm	Gift and goodies bags giveaway by LEGOLAND Team to the guests. Hooray! Thank You LEGOLAND! Our own exploring activity begin!
