More and more

We stated clearly yesterday that our lives are designed to be an unending stream of possibilities in God.
A life of retrogression is contrary to the life of God. Look at the following scriptures “...So ye would abound more and more....That ye increase more and more.” (1 Thess 4: 1, 10). “...That your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgement.” (Phil 1:9).
The summary of all this is that the operation of the life of God in us produces “more and more.
We are not just talking of having more and more of material possession. The life of a man does not consist in the abundance of his possession. Our emphasis today is on having more and more of God in your life; growing deeper in your knowledge and understanding of him.
As we have more and more of him everything about us also grow in the same dimension.
As we have more and more of God in our lives the dominion of self begins to reduce. We cannot be full of self and be full of God at the same time. The two does not compute. The less of God you have the more vulnerable your life becomes. We need all of God to make the most of our lives. The scripture talks about “...filled with all the fullness of God ” Ephesians 3:19.
If this will happen there must be a daily craving after God. The more of God you have the more you’ll realise your need of him. As long as we keep longing for more of God he’ll keep revealing himself to us in a new and deeper way. Apostle Paul had a unique revelation of Christ far beyond all the other Apostles put together but his attitude was “That I may know him and the power of his resurrection...” Phil 3:10.* David said “As the hart pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after thee, O God ” Psalm 42:1

Lord I ask that you take me deeper in my knowledge and understanding of you.
