Rooftop gardening
Though city dwellers have the wish and hobby of gardening but they have limited space to do that.
Today afternoon when I went to my building rooftop, took below pictures of different plants and trees. Many of the flat owners have planted plants as per their choice.
Earlier there was a concept that gardening could be done only on open land. But the concept of rooftop gardening is really a good call for the nature lovers. Can you think mango tree on the rooftop. Yes, here it is-
Here is the papaya tree. Looks the tree has enjoyed few minutes earlier rain. Looking fresh.
Not only you can enjoy nature but also can enjoy some fresh and chemical free vegetables. The way fruits and vegetables adulteration happening, you can take the opportunity to plant some vegetables on the rooftop. You will find some eggplant pictures here.
It’s not a bad idea to have some fresh fruits like pomme-grenade (apple of Grenada) from rooftop. Fresh lemons are also there. Here’s some of the pictures-
Do you want to make your rooftop garden? There are many institutions who will support and give you guidance to make that. Like Bonayon, Urban Roof Gardeners Society etc institutions are ready to help you.
Gardening is not only hobby but also help and support for the environmental sustainability. So, all should take care of that.

Really cool idea and as we have less land to plant trees at our cities we need to plant at the roof. It will clear the carbon dioxide besides we could be benefited by fruits, flowers and vegetables.

There are so many things you can do with your roof. Some people set flowers and plants. Others put snow guards on metal roof to protect their heads from the falling snow form roofs., others paint their roofs in different colors. I think it's great. Thank you for oyur post.
