US President Donald Trump has threatened to withdraw the US from the World Trade Organization (WTO). According to experts, if such incidents occur, then countries like Bangladesh and other small economies may have problems.

Special Fellow of the Center for Policy Dialogue Mostafizur Rahman told the Bengali Tribune, "Many platinous commercial arrangements under the legal framework are good for smaller countries including Bangladesh."

He said, "We enjoy special privileges under this system (WTO). If there is no multilateral system, then rich and powerful countries can put pressure on Bangladesh on merit or trade union or other issue. '

Mostafizur Rahman also said, "This threat of trump is just a technique to put pressure on. They will not get out of this system."
