A Mild Winter
I am happy to report that we had a mild winter. Temperature never dropped below 40 F. We are in USAG Zone 10A. However, 40 F put us in Zone 11A!
I planted a coconut palm tree in the summer of 2016. It is supposed to be planted for 11A temperature or warmer. However, it survived the winter of 2017-2018 of lowest temperature 30F. Now it is growing and thriving in this past mild winter. I am very pleased with it! I will take a picture and share it with you.
Above is a photo taken on February 16th. It shows a mango tree in my food forest already loaded with blossoms. Branches of the tree were even bended because of the weight of the blossoms. I am expecting a great year!
Until next time ... Happy Gardening :-)
