DIARY OF A CORPER
It all started in Black Gold NYSC Orientation Camp Kaduna State in northern part of Nigeria. All my life I have been in the eastern part of Nigeria, I was born there, grew there, school there both primary and tertiary institution until call-up letter came out from National Youth Service (NYSC), fortunately for or would I call it unfortunately because initially I wasn't happy for been posted to a northern state due to religious crisis that have occurred many times there and also because it's far from home. When I first came to this Kaduna, I wanted going for relocation but I mate few friends who told me that Kaduna is a very nice state to stay compared to other Northern States so with that, I began to love Kaduna
After some weeks into the camp, there was this rumor that came saying that northerners gave all the easterners six months quick notice, that they should vacate the northern states and go back to their various states, instead, they will declear war. That triggered fear among corpers and we all felt insecure amongs us, parents became worried, calling to tell us that we should suspend our program with NYSC and start coming home immediately, but we all played a deaf ear to them because relocation office was no longer registering, so we had no options rather than to stay and see what will happen. After some months outside the camp, everything began to settle, till this moment nothing has happened and I am here today being my last day as a Corp member to say that I am so glad that obeyed the clarion call, under the sun and in the rain with dedication and selflessness. Nigeria is ours, Nigeria we served and kaduna is the best place to stay in the North, very loving kind of people with honesty. I want to thank everyone in Kaduna who made my stay wonderful. I Iove guys, I love Kaduna, I love NYSC, I love Nigeria.
Congratulation dear
Thank God for protection
