Is the teacher allowed to lead puppets to dangerous paths? Is he supposed to? He’s teaching them what he deems good. He’s also instructed by their parents. Even worse: he might be appointed by their prison guards, their overlords, their brainwashers.
The answer is simple. He serves himself.
