هل سبق لك شممت رائحة المطر؟
رائحة المطر تلك الرائحة الرائعة التي تنبعث من الأرض بعد هطوله، فتبعث في النفس راحة عجيبة وشعوراً لايوصف؛ فما سر تلك الرائحة؟ وما كيمياؤها؟ تعرفوا معنا في هذا المقال على الإجابة..
رائحة المطر ليست رائحة واحدة كما يظن البعض أو كما تروج الصفحات، بل هي مركبة من عدة روائح، إذ تقوم النباتات خلال فترة الصيف أو الجفاف بإفراز زيوت عطرية، تبقى على الأوراق أو يتم امتصاصها بواسطة التربة، واكثر هذه المواد من حيث قوة الرائحة هي مادة الجيوسمين Geosmin, والتي تطلقها كذلك انواع من بكتريا تعيش في التربة اسمها actinomycetes البكتيريا “الشعّيّة أو الشعاوية أو الشعاعية”، وعندما تمطر فإن المركبات الكيميائية التي تنتجها هذه البكتيريا تنتشر في الجو مع #الزيوت_العطرية التي تنتجها النباتات؛ على شكل فقاعات صغيرة جداً تسمى aerosols،
#الفائدة من هذه الزيوت هي لتأخير نمو بذور هذه النباتات الى الوقت الملائم لنموها، وتقليل سرعة نموها، وقد اجرى العالمان “بير و ثوماس” تجربة أثبتا فيها ان البذور التي تُزرع في تربة خالية من هذه الزيوت تنمو مبكراً، مما يقلل فرص نجاتها، وفي تجربة اخرى اجراها باحثون من معهد ماساشوستس، اثبتوا فيها ان الامطار الخفيفة تؤدي الى تحرير كمية اكبر من المواد المتطايرة في التربة، وهو ما يحدث عند انبعاث رائحة مميزة من الارض بعد الامطار الخفيفة.
وهناك رائحة ثالثة أيضاً هي #رائحة_الأوزون القادم من طبقات الجو العليا مع المطر وتكون أقرب إلى رائحة الكلور المخفف، فخلال العواصف الرعدية يتشكل الأوزون في طبقة الأتموسفير، وتحمله قطرات المطر إلى الأرض.

There is also a third odor - the smell of ozone coming from the upper layers of the rain and is closer to the smell of chlorine diluted, during thunderstorms, ozone is formed in the stratosphere, and carries rain drops to the ground.
