Hi Susanne, I'm an accountant running my own practice. Looking to build it out but don't want to default to typical office based work. Want to expand remotely and interested in exploring how steemit could be part of the setup.

Steve, it's awesome to hear you have already stared running your own practice! I still work for others trying to branch out into being a Virtual Accountant. I've started following you, and am hopeful you'll find the right mix to branch out through the Virtual aspect of accounting. It would be amazing to do work for others anywhere in the world. I enjoy people in the office but the flexibility and freedom of working virtually is exciting. Good Luck to you! If I come across things that are working I'll pass it along.
Hey @shannonfarabee thank you for your comment. Yes, I've actually been running my firm for over 5 years now (time flies fast!) but resisted opening a centralised office style firm. Mainly work in coffee shops and from home. I love the freedom and location independence.
What sort of accounting are you involved with? Where are you based? I currently outsource some Xero accounting work to Australia so already fairly global :)

I'm based in the US - living in Mesa, AZ just outside Phoenix. I check financial statements for accuracy and reclassify as needed, review payroll, quarterly returns, sales tax returns, and process Business and Individual Tax Returns. I have worked with small business owners where I am processing their returns, payroll, etc.
