Side Hustling Ep. 20: Teenage High School Student Creates a $400+ Per Month Passive Income
Hey guys, Rules For Rebels back with Episode 20 of Side Hustle Thursdays.
Thanks for joining me, I think you're really going to enjoy today's episode for two reasons. First off it involves a teenager and a high school student and secondly it involves the holy grail of entrepreneurship...Passive Income.
In today's story we talk about Tim, a high school student who aspired to be a programmer or a designer. He decided to apply for a job, despite being in high school still. He knew to be taken seriously and to stand out from the pack due to his lack of experience and young age he would have to do something different so he created a digital/visual resume.
While he didn't land the job he applied for the owner did take notice and took Tim under his wing and mentored him.
A few years later in college needing some money Tim setup a resume building service on Fiverr. It took off but he was disapointed in the small amounts of money he was making which required a lot of work.
He moved off Fiverr to other platforms like elance and upwork and while he did make a bit more money it still wasn't what he was looking for. Finally the idea hit him. Instead of working one on one with every client, what if he made a template and sold that template so that buyers could customize their own resumes.
His idea was born and this is where the passive income model started. Watch the video to hear the whole story.
I respect the hustle!
