People have different opinions and approaches towards a particular thing. Thus, letting your team know exactly the goals, the quality of what is expected and the purpose for it, is better welcome than specifying the means by which such must be done.
You should believe in the expertise of your team, they just might carry out the task using different approach, but achieve a result that may be just excellent compared to following your approach.
2 Set up checks and balances.
In as much as a business leader is the sole initiator of the business, it's not every of his ideas that would work for the business. When there's no place for second opinion and ideas, when only one idea and direction stands, there's bound to be a failure or disappointment of some sort.
As a business leader, ensure that you put in place a mechanism for being proven otherwise, as well as allowing for the freedom of debate for other strategies and approaches. All you need is a group of advisors who would push back and help in vetting your ideas, not group of people who agree on just about any idea.
3 Know yourself.
Self examination is very crucial for your business success. You need to evaluate yourself, know your weaknesses and find ways to address them. You know possibly need to understand everything, but you should be able to hire people who can carry out certain tasks for your business to succeed.
Ensure that you understand your own feelings and have a sense of what your employees are experiencing around you. It is at that point that you can identify what motivates each of your employees and empower them in ways they'll all be satisfied.
