Thoughts on Toilet Paper shortages part 1
Demand and supply shocks are well understood in economics. As a result of the current global reaction to the COVID-19 virus, supply chains are becoming constrained, whilst at the same time demand has increased as the population continues to hoard basic commodities such as toilet paper.
As a strong believer in markets; I believe that thi creates an opportunity for the agile entrepreneur.
How difficult is toilet paper to make? Surely the raw materials are readily available on the commodities markets? The process is likely well established and well understood, and if implemented quickly can likely be marketed while global manufacturers struggle to keep up with demand.
This post is the first in a series of a project I'll be endeavoring upon. The question at hand is, does the current shortage of toilet paper create an exploitable opportunity?
This post constitutes the charter for the proposed project. I will continue to post all project documents to steemit. For fun and profit!
Goals of the project:
- Define process for creation of toilet paper from readily available raw materials.
- Create minimum viable product.
- Develop plan to scale including capital investment.
- Establish marketing strategy.
- Publish business plan including lean canvas, required resources, estimated schedule and revenue projections
- Acquire resources and work the plan.
