RE: Reddit Advertising: Is it Worth it?
You're right on the conclusion: always create contents that add value. As consumers get smarter, they will do their own research on the products and services they wanna get. I like to think we like to buy from establishments that are constantly educating us to make well-informed buying decisions.
I'll like to add that if your products/services are suitable for the Reddit audience, then yes, advertising there is good. While Facebook has high traffic and engagement, not all products can do well there. Generally retail and lifestyle products do well, but corporate coaching, not really. In the case of the latter, what you said earlier about quality content will work.
I would envision to funnel to be:
- Ad to blog post - 7 ways to work with a diverse and dynamic team
- CTA of blog post leads to a strategy call or webinar, or an email course
- Mailing list subscription upon exit.
Yeah, I'll admit I'm curious about whether Facebook can be used to advertise content that I'd otherwise try and promote to my LinkedIn connections.
Like if you go back as early as 5 years ago, most of the corporates I work with would swear up and down that they'd never get on Facebook.
Now, if they want to see photos of all their grandkids, they have to be there. Or, the people that are my age have all grown up on Facebook, and are now in decision making roles within organisations.
So the idea that we can't reach those people on FB is out-dated... the question is whether they're in the right mindset when you reach them or not. Definitely worth an experiment!
