Developing Your persuasive Ability

All over the world people from all walks of life; marketers, preachers, traders, business persons and so on, are all saddled with the responsibility of persuading their clients, and whomever they want to sell their ideas or products to. And their profit margins is a function of their persuasive ability. However, not all the people from the walks of life know what is entailed in the development of their persuasive power.

Below are some tips on how to develop your persuasive ability:

1. BE MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE ON THE SUBJECT MATTER THAN YOUR CLIENT:

Averagely, people respect and take heed of people who are more knowledgeable than themselves, therefore, everyone who is saddled with the responsibility of persuasion, ought to do a thorough study of their subject matter to get into the heart of their prospective clients. If the situation arises when their prospective client knows more than they do, it will be a failed attempt on persuasion, at the least, both should be on par in terms of knowledge.

2. BE BELIEVABLE:

There are terminologies to every craft; the doctors, lawyers, engineers to mention but a few, all have terminologies with which they wow their listeners. Thus to build your persuasive power you must put in a little more work on your terminologies, so your listener feels you know what you are talking about.

3. LOOK BELIEVABLE:

Every craft has a dress code, thus it is said "you are addressed the way you dress"
Most people lose prospective clients or customers on the basis of their outlooks therefore, it is imperative that you dress to support your craft in other to enhance your persuasive ability.

4. BUILD A HOSPITABLE BRAND:

Most customers are rash with their words and actions due to the age long maxim, "Customers Are Kings" or "Customers Are Always Right".
This gives you the hurdles of tolerance, hospitable words and actions to cross, because you will often find clients that are nasty yet are paying attention to your hospitality, manner, and tolerance. Sometimes, these qualities add up to the persuasion of the client or customer.

5. STUDY THE MOOD AND TEMPERAMENT OF YOUR CLIENT AND CUSTOMER:

Not everyone you come across is happy, hence to be able to persuade your client or customer, study their present mood or temperament, and hit on it. Lovingly ask them personal questions that relates to their mood like: " Madam, are you alright?" "Sir, you look tired, can I get you a seat?"
This helps to open them up to the discussion, and make them pay a close attention to you.
In a nutshell, be more concerned in the wellbeing of your client or customer than you are on your discussion.

6. BUILD AN AFTER SERVICE RELATIONSHIP:

Persuasion is more of an impression than an event, that is why it is said that: "The First Impression Last Long."
If you go the extra mile to show kindness even after you have gotten money off your customer, you have entrenched your persuasive power over that person. Your customer has feelings, thus an unsolicited kindness will endear you to him/her the more.

The list for the building of your persuasive ability are practicable steps that would enhance your influence on people therefore put them into practice and you will see your business thrive.
