Is starting your own business an other rat race ?

I was dangerously motivated and stupid enough to feel like a genius, not listening to others.

I had some saved money and dreamed of owning my business. I was eager to make money, so I started my photocopy business outside my college campus.

SUCCESS! I owned my business, I was happy. I was making a little bit of money, which made me “kind of happy!”

So, I started my journey:

I hired my first employee… he stole from me — I had to jump in.

Second employee… he never came back — I had to jump in.

Third employee… he was jerk — I had to jump in.

Fourth employee… he had an attitude — I had to jump in.

The copy machine failed — I had to jump in.

Problems with suppliers — I had to jump in.

Couldn't afford a bookkeeper — I had to jump in.

Needed extra toner — I had to jump in.

An angry customer — I had to jump in.

Monday — I had to jump in.

Tuesday — I had to jump in.

Wednesday — I had to jump in.

Thursday — I had to jump in.

Friday — I had to jump in.

Saturday — I had to jump in.

Sunday — I had to jump in.

REPEAT the same problems over and over again — I had to jump in.

Long story short… It became a nightmare!

I quickly became a slaved of my own business from Monday to Sunday!

I didn't have a life. I didn’t have a business. I was losing money. I was full of problems. I was failing in college. I wasn't having fun.

To answer your question:

Without the right business strategy, process and procedures in place, starting your own business will NOT become only become a rat race… it will be 100X worse… it will enslave you!

We start our own businesses with a dream… be smart, strategic and careful, that your dream doesn't become a nightmare!

I think the relevant quote here is:

"Entrepreneurs are the only people who will work 80 hour weeks to avoid working 40 hour weeks"

yeah i think so...
