Exactly what you need to create your 1st Business Logo

When choosing a business logo there are many factors that you must consider. Your logo can become part of your brand, your logo can become your trademark, your logo can become worth something to your business and the world. Consider the power of the Nike logo or the Apple logo. How much would you estimate the value on these logos? Are those logos worth anything? Logos can become proprietary content that can help your business grow in worth.

This is what I got for $25+5 tip(Source File, ai File, Tranparent File, PNG File, 3D File)

Please make sure to read last weeks post about doing your trademark and name research. How do you choose your Business Name? We covered this in this Blog: https://steemit.com/business/@allbusiness/business-101-top-3-websited-to-visit-to-limit-legal-troubles

Please carefully go through this first section.

#1: What are others in the industry doing?

  • What key pictures are they using on their logos?(e.g. Houses and keys for real estate)
  • What colors are they using?

#2: Choosing Colors:

  • Where will these colors be used?
  • Will these colors be used for uniforms?
  • Would someone feel comfortable wearing these colors?
  • Will someone willingly choose to wear these colors?

#3: Will your logo need to be resized?

  • How would the logo look shrunk down or blown up? (If you need a file to be blown up or shrunk down, a vectored file would be needed. Vectored aslo known as an "ai" file or a file that can be modified)
  • Will the detail show when shrunk down?
  • What is the ideal size for your logo?

#4 Integrity of your logo.

  • Will people willingly choose to support yout logo?
  • What does your logo mean to you?
  • What does your logo mean to other people?
  • What does your logo represent?
  • Does your logo add value?

#5: Start gathering samples and writing your logo descriptions on paper to give to the designer.

  • You can find inspiration on Instagram & Pinterest.
  • The designer will need these descriptions and examples to help you put the logo together so please take your time with it.
  • Once you have a description and examples to share with the designer you will move to the next step

#6: Go on Fiverr:
https://www.fiverr.com/
Fiverr is a freelance website in which you can find thousands of freelancers ready to help you.

  • Under Graphic and Design, Choose Logo Design
  • You will go through a series of questions.
  • Since you know what you want you will click on “know what you want”.
  • Next you will choose the style you are looking for?
  • Will you need to scale your logo to different sizes? Yes:
  • You can now Refine your search even further as there are hundreds of designs and designers to choose from
  • Delivery Time: You can choose from 24hrs-7days
  • Price Range: What is your budget?
  • Seller Status: Helps you find freelancers that are currently online
  • Style: You can choose from a range of styles.Vintage,3D, Hand Drawn to name a few
  • File Format: Choose the file type of file that you need
  • Services Included: Click on what you are looking for. Options include: Vector File, High Resolution, Source File, Logo Transparency, 3d Mock Up

You can then search through refined profiles. Some profiles will have different priced plans. I usually look for plans which give you the most for your dollar. Look for the checklist of items that are included with the plans to make sure that it includes whatever you are looking for.

  • Check the reviews on the accounts. Reviews can give you insight on the designer.
  • Look for option of multiple revisions so that you can make changes if needed.
  • Another BIG thing to look for is the country in which the designer is in, which can be found on the designers profile info. Sometimes they are in countries in which the dollar converts to more so they will prioritize your work.
  • You can then choose the payment method, includes paypal by the way.
  • You will then be asked by the designer to describe what you are looking for and to upload any pictures of examples or references.
  • Depending on the delivery time you chose the designer will usually present a draft of the logo within that time. You will also have communication to the designer through the Fiverr Website.
  • If your plan came with revisions you will be able to make changes before you accept the logo.
  • On delivery make sure that they deliver all the file types you were looking for.

That's how you get a business logo made. Hope you enjoyed and please #Resteem and #Upvote.

One should also imagine walking into a bank and the reaction the loan officer will have when looking at the logo.

Hey, with a ski mask logo, the teller just might give you money without expecting it back.

; )

On a serious side. One gets a common law trademark when they put the mark on a label. However, one should do a trademark search on logos, avoid using logos similar to others brands in the market. Serious businesses should consider filing a trademark with the trademark office:

In the US this is: https://www.uspto.gov/

This is a great idea. Yes we cover some of these topics in one of our other posts. How do you choose your Business Name?: https://steemit.com/business/@allbusiness/business-101-top-3-websited-to-visit-to-limit-legal-troubles

So, when you buy a logo from a logo service, do they usually perform a trademark search on the logo?

Trademark searches on names is easy. I haven't a clue how one would search a graphic design.

United States Patent and Trademark Office allows for Design Mark or Word Mark searches. Design Marks are harder to pin point but can be done(description searches). I do both. I dont think design companies do the trademark search as they would put liability on themselves for insaccurate searches. Patent/Trademark lawyers can help with searches.

Great information.

A few years ago, I considered using a cut-rate logo designer. The company was essentially creating logos from basic templates. I imagine that the company's process would essentially lead to problems as his customers seemed to end up with essentially the same logo; So, I steered clear.
