The diary Game [27-03-2025] A trip to Bazina under a stormy sky: between drops and wonder
Hello steemians,
There are days when it rains, and others when it transforms the scene into a veritable visual poem. It is in this second category that my recent trip to Bazina falls, a small corner of greenery in northern Tunisia, where nature seems to speak a language that only peaceful hearts can hear.
It all started by chance, when I hit the road, accompanied by the familiar purr of the engine and the sweet promise of an escape from everyday life, sitting comfortably in the back, with a leather jacket on my shoulders and a fitted hat on my head, I watched the first drops fall on the window, a precursor to a heavier downpour, the sky is a pale blue riddled with dark clouds, allowing the golden light to seep in in places, making the clouds almost heavenly.

As the car sped towards Bazina, green landscapes gracefully followed one another, on both sides of the road, fields stretched as far as the eye could see, dotted with water and life, the bright green grass seemed to sing in the rain, the puddles reflected the light of the sky, like many liquid mirrors stretching towards the sky.
The road was lined with gentle hills, dotted with trees and small houses, through the foggy window I could see the silhouettes of the mountains in the distance, like sleeping giants under a cloak of mist, the air was saturated with the smells of damp earth, crushed leaves and purity.
We passed through several small villages, where sheep were grazing peacefully in a light rain, one of the most notable stops was near an old train station, a relic of another era, rusty rails crossed the tall grass, while a group of sheep seemed to guard this peaceful place, in the background, an old grain silo dominated the scene, as if bearing witness to forgotten stories.
But this trip was not just an immersion in nature, it was also a dive into the soul of the country, at the entrance to a village, a majestic statue dominated the roundabout: a giant black olive, an ear of wheat, an exploding pomegranate and a gazelle standing proudly, small Tunisian flags fluttered around it, adding a touch of local pride to the scene, this monument, strange and wonderful, symbolizes, in my eyes, a link with the territory, nature and regional identity.

The closer we got to Bazina, the more distinct the light became, the sun, hidden behind large clouds, sometimes cast piercing rays, giving the sky a soft, golden and apocalyptic atmosphere, it was as if the rain had washed away the colors, making them lighter and more intense, the contrast between the green fields, wet roads, brown mountains and the electric sky was simply breathtaking.
The highlight of the show was undoubtedly this suspended moment, while the road followed the ridge line, and the sun was about to pierce an enormous cloud, the rays, like celestial lights, swept the fields with a strange brilliance, it was incredibly beautiful, almost unreal.
Bazina welcomed us with the same poetry, small muddy paths, green hills and white houses clinging to the slope, the village seemed asleep despite the hour, surrounded by a soft, almost suffocating humidity, that day, I realized that it is sometimes the rainy days that offer the most beautiful lights, the most striking contrasts and the most unforgettable memories.
This trip to Bazina reminded me of a simple truth, you don't have to go far to be amazed, sometimes you just have to sit, watch the rain fall, breathe the fresh air and let nature tell its story, and in this remote corner, under a changing sky, I found an unexpected peace, between two drops of rain and a thousand rays of light.
