There are times when we feel the need to reconnect with nature, to breathe pure air, far from the stress of daily life, on this beautiful day of Ramadan, just before breaking the fast, I decided to treat myself to a little getaway not far from home, to a place that I particularly like: Ammar Mountain.

Located a few kilometers from my home, the Ammar Mountain is a corner of paradise that few people really know about, yet, each time I go there, I rediscover its beauty, its tranquility, and the richness of its nature, at the end of the afternoon, under a clear blue sky and a soft spring sun, the walk promised to be perfect.

From the first steps, a green carpet stretches as far as the eye can see, the fresh grass, dotted with wild flowers, invites contemplation, the gentle hills and the century-old olive trees draw a landscape worthy of a postcard, the song of the birds accompanies my steps on the stony paths.

On the way, I came across a charming traditional ceramic fountain, a little gem of rural art, the water flowing there is incredibly fresh – a real blessing in this period of fasting, it reminded me of the fountains of yesteryear, those where our parents and grandparents once stopped to quench their thirst.

One of the most beautiful moments of my walk was undoubtedly the encounter with a horse free, peaceful, quietly grazing on the tender grass, he alone embodied the serenity of this place, I could not help but capture this moment in a photo, we almost felt a silent complicity between us, like two souls enjoying a moment suspended in time.

A little further on, a surprise on the ground: a large hairy caterpillar was calmly crossing the path, this little being, often ignored, reminded me how each creature, no matter how tiny, has its place in this wonderful ecosystem, that's also the magic of the mountain: it teaches us humility and attention to detail.

Throughout my trip I took several photos to capture the moment, whether it was the winding road surrounded by olive trees, the green hills, the views overlooking the valleys, or the lake nestled between the mountains, each image tells a story, at one point I found an incredible viewpoint that overlooks a small natural swimming pool, the water reflected the light of the setting sun, creating a magical play of colors, it was the perfect time to a meditative break, to take a step back and thank life for this chance to be here, present, in peace.

This kind of walk takes on a whole new dimension during the month of Ramadan, fasting refines the senses, opens the heart, and gives a new perspective on the world, walking in silence, in such a pure setting, before breaking the fast, it is a true spiritual retreat, we refocus on the essential, we sort our thoughts, and we return home with a light soul.

Just before the Maghreb call to prayer, I sat on a rock, facing the horizon, I watched the sun slowly decline, its last rays gilding the tops of the trees, a light breeze caressed my face, that moment, I will remember it for a long time.

We often tend to seek adventure far from home, to dream of exotic destinations, while sometimes, beauty is right there, on our doorstep, the Ammar Mountain is for me a reminder of this truth, it may not have the notoriety of the major tourist sites, but it has a soul, a rare authenticity.

I can only encourage you to explore your own region, to give yourself these moments of nature and calm, take a backpack, a bottle of water (especially after breaking the fast!), and go walking, you will be surprised by everything you can discover.

This little adventure to the Ammar Mountain, before breaking the fast, will remain a precious memory, it allowed me to reconnect with nature, to meet beautiful people, to capture magnificent images, and above all, to find inner peace.
