BUILDTEAM - What An Interesting Concept!
The dust is settling after SteemFest and I'm still recovering from all the wonderful conversations I've had here in Krakow, Poland. I've had the pleasure to meet @reggaemuffin there and since then I've took a second look at what they do. It's a very interesting concept that I would love to see flourishing.
What is BuildTeam?
BuildTeam is a group of people that got together to build a team of people to develop businesses & tools for the Steem blockchain. They developed @MinnowBooster, @Steemvoter, QuickSteem, Steemsports, TechInvestor.io among other projects.
Do you have a stake?
All of the businesses that are being built by BuildTeam generates revenue. They currently pay their developers and share the loots with their investors via the BUILDTEAM token.
The BUILDTEAM token is currently hosted on the bitshares exchange but will be available as an SMT as soon as it is launched.
Once you bought the token, you need to perform one more action in order to receive the bi-weekly payouts. You have to send the BUILDTEAM tokens to the @buildteamvest account on bitshares along with your Steem account in the memo.

Isn't it a security?
BUILDTEAM tokens do not qualify as a security because the founders have made a commitment not to stake tokens themselves and the company does not sell them. Tokens are only given out as rewards to BuildTeam's members, who are a group of people familiar with the workings of the tokens. These builders, of course, are able to freely trade the tokens however they desire
What do you get out of it?
Do you own Steem? The future of Steem is intimately tied to developers and business people who make this place more and more user-friendly through apps. BuildTeam is a dedicated team that has been around since July 2017 and has been constantly upping their game as you can see on the blog.
This is not financial advice and I'm not telling you to put a portion of what you have into the BUILDTEAM token. I, for myself, will buy into it and support them in exchange for a return on investment. I've had insight into what they are cooking and I'm excited.
