WHATZZZ UP!

For today I will be doing the self watering system for plants that I have been wanting to create for the past days. I became excited on doing it because the materials needed are easy to find and at the same time easy to create. I guessed I finished building it within five to ten minutes.

The Materials used for this DIY project are bottle, a piece of cloth or anything cotton that can absorb water, soil, water, and scissors.
*the size of the bottle can vary, it depends on your choice.

The first step that I did was cut the bottle into two parts using the scissors.

Second, put some holes on the bottle cap. You can use your scissors to make holes, or find some finishing nails and then try to warm it a little bit, so that it will melt the bottle cap and will be easy for you to make the hole.
In my case, I only used scissors but needed to put extra force to make a hole.

After making the hole, insert the piece of cloth and adjust its position where it will be fixed and stay. Make sure it is long enough to absorb the water.

Put them together and it will look like this

Now gather some water and soil.

Put the soil in the upper part, while the water at the bottom. Like this one

We now have a self watering system for our plants!

This is brilliant @sczed! We get to recycle empty bottles too! Thank you for the steps! So basically, the dry soil will "suck" the water through the cotton cloth string? Is this called reverse osmosis?

hi dear @sczed, this is a brilliant idea :-)) I like the creativity of doing useful things in a simple way and using objects that we can recycle! congratulations for your work and for your curie rating
