Bitcoin hits $500, 000 on a Russian exchange?
Livecoin, a Russian cryptocurrency trading platform, claimed it had been hacked after the cryptocurrency community noticed that the price of Bitcoin had soared to half a million dollars. Meanwhile, users complained that they were unable to withdraw funds in exchange for what they suspected was a scam to pull up shipments.
Livecoin, the Russian cryptocurrency exchange, has claimed that it suffered a security breach over the Christmas period after the cryptocurrency community observed the price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on the exchange doubling above its market price.
Bitcoin reportedly trades for about $500,000, while the ETH is over $15,000 and THE XRP rises to more than $17. On other exchanges, BTC is currently trading at about $24,813, ETH at $630 and XRP at $0.31.
