Bitcoin reaches a new record over 68 thousand dollars
Bitcoin and Ether reached record highs in Asian trade on Tuesday. Bitcoin rose to $ 68,564 in Asian afternoon trading and ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, previously reached $ 4,825.
Both cryptocurrencies have more than doubled since June and have risen nearly 70% against the dollar since early October.
"We're seeing the market change," said Matthew Dibb, chief operating officer at Singapore-based cryptocurrency asset manager Stack Funds, pointing to a sharp rise in demand from major investors and even pension funds.
Since the beginning of last month the raising of a fund traded on the futures-based bitcoin exchange in the United States has boosted earnings expectations.
Inflows into bitcoin products and funds have reached a record $ 6.4 billion so far this year, data from digital asset manager CoinShares showed, and reached $ 95 million last week.
