SEC | S19W1: Designing lesson plans

Welcome to the Steemit Engagement Challenge for season 19, Week 1.

The task of the teacher is to transfer the knowledge he has to his students, the process of transferring this knowledge will not go well if a teacher does not have a lesson plan. A good teacher is a teacher who has a lesson plan, let's learn to develop an effective lesson plan.

In teaching a subject a teacher needs to prepare a lesson plan, this plan must be prepared as well as possible so that the learning process can be carried out with the specified time. According to our knowledge and experience, there are generally four most important indicators in preparing lesson plans, including.

1. Learning Materials: You must determine a learning material that you want to teach to students, set a topic that you want to teach according to your field of expertise.

2. Opening Activities, Core Activities, and Closing Activities: each activity has a certain time allocation so you have to manage your time well, besides that the opening activity can be the key to success so that students follow every process of learning activities enthusiastically and actively. Your creativity is needed in organizing each activity so that it runs as expected.

3. Learning method: is the method used by the teacher to convey learning material, there are many methods most often used by teachers, one of which is the lecture method, question and answer, discussion, demonstration, group work, and other methods. Of course, each method has its advantages and disadvantages.

4. Tools and media used: Tools and media in learning are needed so that students are able to properly understand the subject matter delivered by the teacher. These tools and media do not always have to be purchased, creative teachers can make learning tools and media from used items, or they can utilize any objects around them.

Imagine that you will be a teacher who will teach a subject matter to students, you want your class to be active, fun, and full of enthusiasm, before teaching you must prepare a lesson plan as below.

1. What material do you want to teach to students or to your child?

2. Explain how you would design the opening activities, core activities and closing activities in a learning material?

3. What method will you use, explain why it is the most appropriate?

4. What tools and media do you need so that learners can understand it well?
