Singkil Swamp Forest is a coastal swamp forest area located on the west coast of Aceh. This area has a bottle-like shape in which its neck culminates in the northern part.
The western part is bordered by a white sand beach bordering the Indian Ocean which is a turtle shelter. To the east and south bordered by the Alas River, while in the north it is bounded by the Trumon River. Until recently, the neck of the Singkil Rawa bottle connects it to the limestone and curved Cretaceous forests and forms a natural corridor as a cross-country migration of large animals such as deer , bears, tigers, orangutans, wau-wau and so on. This corridor is known as the Singkil Bengkung Corridor (Leuser Development Program, 1995). The Singkil swamp was formed after the Toba eruption some 75,000 years ago
