BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO DOCG 2014 - BANFI CASTLE: WHY I LIKE IT
Made from Sangiovese grapes vinified alone, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from Castello Banfi can be considered a classic of Banfi production in Montalcino. It comes from a clonal selection of grapes, matures for two years in large French oak barrels and in French oak barrels, and then completes with a bottle aging of 8-12 months. Refined and elegant, both on the nose and on the palate, it reaches high quality standards, offering guarantees from all points of view. It helps to keep the level very high of the denomination to which it belongs.
TASTING NOTES
Intense ruby red, with a slightly garnet nail. Complex aromas come to the nose, remembering first and foremost the dark berry fruit, overripe and jam, then leave space for mineral and spicy hints of licorice and tobacco. In the mouth the tannins, although still energetic, prove to be well chiseled. Warm taste and excellent persistence.
PAIRINGS
Ideal with red meats, game, it is perfect with truffle partridges.
