Soaking up some sun in Brighton

in #brighton7 years ago (edited)

Over the weekend I was fortunate enough for my better half, Ellie to treat me to a trip to Brighton by booking us a place to stay, this was going to be one of the last times we may see each other as I am due to leave England to fly to Kazakhstan 2 weeks today to continue my cycling trip.

I hadn't been to Brighton for some time and it was a nice refreshing change and brought a whole lot of positivity to me mentally, but physically I got a little cooked by the sun to a nice pink colour (the moanings of a pale man). Whilst we were there we chomped on some delicious vegetarian food, soaked up the sun, treated ourselves to some beers, engaged in a lot of great conversation, lost £3 myself on the arcades and to top it off I had a soak in the sea - wicked! 🌞 😎 🌊

Here are some snaps below that I took below of Brighton in the sun...

I'll post some more snaps and details of Brighton once I've done more editing and hopefully will share some of Ellie's photos too, she's new to SteemIt by the way! --> @ellielouise 😊

Amazing pictures! Enjoy.

Thanks a lot! I did, was gorgeous weather.

Looking forward to hearing about your bike trip. I did a couple long distance rides as a teen (across America, and England-Holland-Scottland), but I haven't done one as an adult.

Thanks man! Damn, that must have been a great experience at that age, to be fair I'm quite envious as I think it would have helped me gain a better understanding of the world if I was able to do it at that age and progressed me quicker! What's been your favourite place to cycle?

As an American, cycling in Western Europe (especially Germany and NL) is like heaven. I love every place that has its own cycling paths, and a population of adults who still cycle.

I think it's much better to cycle in countries where the drivers think "Oh, that could be me, or my dad, or my son. I'll give him some extra room." Instead of America where most people haven't ridden bicycles since childhood and have no empathy for cyclists.

Ah yeah, I bet NL was a great place to cycle!

Yeah that's a pretty good assessment to be fair, even in Russia you get given quite a bit of room and felt pretty damn safe (compared to the warnings I given) ... There must be some amazing routes to cycle in America though?

There are some amazing routes, and America has some of the most beautiful lands in the world. For the most part, I felt pretty safe on my trip across America. But later, when I first cycled in the Netherlands, it was like riding in paradise. Beautiful little paths cutting through forests and tulip farms, not a single car or truck in sight.

I bet, what's been the best place to cycle in America for yourself? Now that just sounds amazing, forests, tulip farms, no cars... paradise as you say mate
